About
In the world of golf, I believe that passion and perseverance are the most powerful clubs in a player’s bag. I believe my journey to becoming a professional golfer and coach was down to a little bit of both. After picking up the game seriously just after a year of playing, I found myself completely immersed in the sport. In that short period, I got my handicap down from 14 to 5, then a few months later I turned professional and signed up to the PGA. In that time, I developed not only the technical skills but also the mindset to go from an enthusiastic amateur to a professional. This transition was both challenging and rewarding, especially within that year I underwent through quite a life changing and traumatic back surgery, learning first-hand the resilience needed both physically and mentally in this sport.
I currently specialise in putting and short game, areas I believe are foundational to every golfer’s success. Mastering these elements requires precision, patience, and an understanding of the subtleties that often go unnoticed in the broader game. In my coaching, I focus on helping players unlock these aspects, giving them the confidence and skill to excel under pressure. Putting and short game aren’t just about mechanics—they’re about understanding the subtle details of the greens, whilst finding your flow and rhythm. I work with my clients to develop both the physical and mental approaches that can shave strokes off their score and bring new levels of enjoyment to their game.
Pursuing a degree with the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) has been a natural progression in my journey. This education allows me to deepen my knowledge of the game, learning and working alongside some of the country's top professionals, whilst staying up-to-date with the latest in coaching methods, sports science, and equipment technology. The PGA degree is an invaluable opportunity, not only helping me advance my technical skills but also equipping me with broader insights into the different sides of golf. By completing this degree, I aim to become a well-rounded coach who can offer players a holistic approach to improvement, whether they are amateurs looking to take the next step or more experienced players seeking to refine their technique.
My transition from player to coach has given me a unique perspective on the game. I understand the challenges and triumphs that come with learning golf, as well as the mindset required to make continuous improvement. In a past life I previously set up businesses from scratch that reached significant levels, and I coached business courses around the UK and Ireland, whilst working alongside some of the world's biggest global brands. I bring a strong sense of professionalism, organisation, and client-focus to my coaching practice. This experience also shapes my approach to coaching — I tailor each session to my clients' individual goals and strengths, creating a personal pathway and setting goals for improvement that reflects their aspirations and playing style.
As a coach, I’m committed to helping players find their potential, whether that means mastering the basics or achieving a personal best. I hope my own journey can inspire others, that it’s never too late to fall in love with the game or to push past perceived limits. I bring this perspective to every lesson, focusing not only on technique but also on the love and respect for the game that drives us all to the course. I’m excited to continue this journey with the PGA and to help more players discover the joy and satisfaction that golf can offer.
